One-Pan Spiced Chicken & Basmati Rice
Tender spiced chicken thighs and fragrant basmati — all in one pan.

Tender chicken thighs cooked with warm spices, carrots, and fragrant basmati rice — all simmered together in one pan. Flavorful, cozy, and perfect for busy weeknights.
Instructions

Heat olive oil and butter in a large deep pan over medium heat. Let butter melt.

Add paprika, cumin, savory, oregano, salt, and saffron right into the fat. Stir 30 sec to bloom.

Add diced carrots and sauté 2–3 min.

Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.

Add chicken and cook until lightly browned and almost cooked through.

Stir in turmeric and tomato paste. Cook 1–2 min.

Add rinsed basmati rice and stir to coat.

Pour in 2 cups water (or broth). Bring to a gentle simmer.

Cover, reduce heat to low, cook 15–20 min until rice is tender and liquid absorbed.

Turn off heat and rest covered 5 min. Fluff and serve.
